How to use your sage smudge stick bundle

Use this sacred plant as part of your meditation, cleansing, ceremonial, spiritual and daily practices. Start by having an intention for working with it.

Have a heat resistant dish or alabone shell ready, you will need this to hold the smudge stick when you are not using it & to catch falling embers.

Open a window and allow the air to circulate not only for ventilation bus also so that all shifted negative energy can be released.

Light a candle then hold one end of the smudge stick to the flame & wait a few moments for it to light. Blow out the flame from the smudge stick which encourages the smudge stick to produce smoke. Waft the smoke around the person, object or space that you are chosing to cleanse and keep your intention in your mind as you do this. You may want to repeat the intention outloud or say some affirmations as you expel negativity and welcome positivity. If the smudge stick goes out relight and continue.

When you have finished, place the smudge stick in the heatproof dish or alabone shell and allow it to go out.

Thank the sage & repeat as often as you like.

Top tips

When you have used your smudge stick several times you may want to snap off any blackened sage as this won’t burn. The thread that binds the sage can be burned. ou can also unravel the bundle and burn smaller pieces of sage. this will help you to control how smokey it gets and how long your bundle will last.

With regular use this smudge stick should last between 6-12 months. However, they have a long shelf life & can last much longer than that.

Each sage stick is reiki blessed by Casey & stored lovingly with crystals & positive affirmations until you purchase it, then it is carefully & safely wrapped in eco friendly packaging & sent to you. When you purchase a sage smudge stick bundle you will also receive an email with a free prayer to help you set the intention before you use the sage & a guide to using the sage.
